HOW IT WORKS

SELLING YOUR COMPANY

SIMPLE, STRAIGHTFORWARD, NO SURPRISES

After a written agreement is signed, Bob works with the owner to establish exactly what is for sale and what the asking price will be. In all cases (with Bob's input), the owner ultimately determines the price.

From there, the sales process is not complicated.  Bob quarterbacks the entire procedure so the seller does not have to spend more time than necessary dealing with potential buyers.

Bob makes regular reports to the owners, updating them on the latest developments and interest in their company.  If action is required by the owner, Bob lets them know in a timely manner.

Initially, Bob coordinates all communication between owners and potential buyers.  The first contact between an owner and a potential buyer is usually a conference call. Bob will set up the call, introduce the two parties, and participate in the conversation.  Finally, if a visit to the plant is requested, Bob arranges it at a mutually convenient time for both parties.

Offers are usually coordinated and negotiated through Bob after close consultation with the seller.  Acceptance or rejection of all offers is strictly up to the owner.

CONTINGENCY FEE ONLY WITH A SALE

NO UPFRONT CHARGES . . . NO ONGOING MONTHLY FEES

Different business brokerages use different formulas for determining fees.  Some charge an initial fee when a new client signs their agreement.  This may be for expenses they have in getting a company ready for sale, appraisal, preparing financial records, legal help, travel expenses or other services provided.  Some brokerages may charge a monthly fee while they search for a buyer.  Sometimes these fees are even deducted from the final success fee if a sale is made.

Perhaps the most commonly used fee is based on some version of the widely accepted Lehman Formula.  Many brokerages use the basic formula while others may use a multiple of it (Double-Lehman), based on the final sale price.

E/Search International does not require upfront charges or ongoing monthly fees.

The only fee we charge is contingent on success.  E/Search International uses a version of the Lehman Formula too, but caps it so the seller might pay considerably less than they might have with other brokerage houses. A complete explanation is spelled out in our exclusive agreement which is available upon request.
